Little Red Riding Hood

Feminist: From a feminist point of view, Little Red Riding Hood could portray a world where the females are very dependent upon males; the woodcutter has to save Little Red and her grandma implying they can't defend themselves.  Calling her 'Little Red' is patronising, it makes her seem inferior.

Socialist: From a socialist point of view, the story could comment on the possible interpretation of rape where the wolf 'eats' the grandma. Also, why is it a little girl that has to go off into the woods to be the carer for her grandma? Why is the grandma isolated in the woods on her own when she is ill?

Psychoanalyst: From a psychoanalyst's point of view, the characters in Little Red Riding Hood show controversial ways for that time such as, Little Red who is defying the expected normalities of a little girl, taking her own responsibilities into her own hands and not relying on the man
